WE HAVE the last three of Sponja’s kittens. I managed to trap them all tonight in the space of about half an hour. They’re all safe and well and living it up in our bathroom, which has a post-it on the door saying “DO NOT USE” in case I forget they’re there when I go for a slash at 7am. Ev managed to get their flea meds on them after having to chase Boots and Frosty (or Snowy) around her office when they clawed their way out of our grip. We’re hoping they’ll calm down a bit by the morning.
It was good to finally capture them all but it’s a bittersweet feeling. Boots was the first to be trapped and went nuts in the cage, calmed down, and then started whimpering which made Sponja make all sorts of sad noises. The same happened with Frosty and Snowy, the two who’ve always been the most timid and quiet since we’ve known them. It was a pretty heartbreaking thing to take kittens away from their mother and me and Ev feel very bad for Sponja, who wandered around the yard a few times calling for the kittens and then cleared off. We haven’t seen her for a couple of hours and wonder if she’ll ever come back. It was nice to have company during my morning outdoor coffee-and-reading sessions. We’ll miss her if she’s gone for good.

Awww, don’t they look sweet! Its for the best though — I had a cat once who had 3 kittens in my closet when I was in high school. Eventually, as they got older, she got tired of them being underfoot and began to hiss and swat at them.
UGH! they are just so damn cute. Can you make Chris’ allergies go away so I can have Snowy (or Frosty)?
