ALTHOUGH I’m a huge fan of both Portal games I hadn’t got around to seeing Dan Trachtenberg’s short movie Portal: No Escape til about 10 minutes ago. And holy shit, it is superb. Looking more like the pre-credit sequence to a big-budget movie than a seven-minute short filmed by a commercial director, it gets just about everything right: the dystopian setting, the sense of bewilderment, the portal gun and the portals. ALL THREE of you might have noticed that Planet Mut’s not been updated as much as previously. There’s a simple reason for this: I’ve rediscovered videogames. Well, one videogame in particular.…
