THE 47th annual Congressional Cup Yacht Race kicked off on Tuesday just off the pier outside our apartment building. IT’S not every day you get to see two girls taking a shower in broad daylight on a busy street. They were there to promote PETA’s push for veganism to help water conservation. Apparently, every pound of meat you eat equates to six months of showers, meaning I owe myself roughly 16 showers a week. Yesterday they were in Hollywood, but today they showed up on Second Street so I had to go. But enough of the fat Welsh bloke and on with the show!

WE’VE both wanted to hire a Duffy boat for ages, and for a birthday surprise Ev organised a trip around the bay for me*. A Duffy boat is a little electric vessel that only does three miles per hour (think of it as the PT Cruiser of the seas) and is designed to be gently piloted around the calm waters of Los Alomitos Bay and not the open ocean, thus destroying my plans for making a drugs/hookers run to Mexico.
